InovCares is a digital platform addressing inequities in healthcare access and delivery for women through telehealth services, point-of-care testing (POCT), and referrals to virtual OB-GYN clinics. Founder Mohamed Kamara was inspired to build InovCares after the tragic loss of both his sister and aunt to pregnancy hemorrhage and preeclampsia. With experience spanning healthcare finance, nonprofit operations, and startup leadership—including roles at the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs, Goodie Nation, and Wellness Healthcare Clinic—Mohamed brings deep operational and financial expertise to maternal health innovation.

Venture Founder

Mohamed Kamara is the founder and CEO of InovCares Connected Comprehensive Healthcare, LLC, inspired to launch the company after losing his sister and aunt to pregnancy hemorrhage and preeclampsia. Through InovCares, he also hosts and produces The Empowered Patient Podcast, connecting with healthcare providers, payor executives, and healthcare leaders.

Mohamed has extensive experience across healthcare, entrepreneurship, finance, and operations. He previously served as Director of Operations for the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs, supporting 150 minority-led businesses from idea to growth stage while overseeing nonprofit financial statements, budgeting, billing, receivables, and facility operations. He also served as Entrepreneur-in-Residence for Goodie Nation, supporting 350 impact-driven founders with connections, capital access, and customers.

His prior roles include CFO of Wellness Healthcare Clinic, a behavioral health and addiction medicine clinic serving underserved patients impacted by opioids, as well as leadership and finance positions with Startup Leadership Program, National Fire Sprinkler Association, TSYS, Rea & Associates, AirNet Systems, and Ernst & Young.

Mohamed holds an MBA in Finance from Mount Vernon Nazarene University, where he served on the Alumni Association Council Board, and a BSBA in Economics and Accounting with minors in Political Science and Computer Programming. As an undergraduate, he served as President of the Accounting Association and founded Voice of Africa, a nonprofit connecting high school students with college mentors.

He has been featured by Google, Medscape Education, Becker’s Healthcare, AfroWellness Magazine, and other outlets for his work advancing healthcare access through InovCares.
