Venture Founder

Angela TenBroeck is a visionary entrepreneur, fourth-generation farmer, and advocate for ending hunger and elevating women in agriculture. A serial entrepreneur since the early 1990s, she has experience across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.

Her family has farmed hydroponically in North Florida since the 1970s, and Angela has expanded those techniques through innovative approaches to controlled-environment agriculture. She is skilled in nonprofit leadership, aquaponics, facility design, smart agriculture technology, team building, and business development.

Angela developed Aqua Hortus Farms to create and operate controlled-environment facilities that grow high-quality, safe produce year-round, regardless of climate. Her methods were shaped through her work as lead scientist at Traders Hill Farm in Hilliard, Florida, which she became owner of in 2015. Her work has influenced 26 farms across the United States, Europe, and the Caribbean.

Today, Angela is focused on changing how communities access fresh produce by transforming brownfields in food-insecure areas into decentralized farming hubs. Through Aqua Hortus Farms, she supports Farmers and FarmHers, especially women seeking to change their lives through agriculture, while advancing her mission to change the hunger landscape.
